I’m Dr. David Moeller, founder of The GP – a private practice dedicated to unhurried, high-quality primary care. Born in Germany, I trained at the University of Münster, earned my doctorate in medicine, and built broad experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics, geriatrics and surgery before specialising as a General Practioner/consultant for Family Medicine and Senior Emergency Physician. A sabbatical in New Zealand lead me to settle here permanently in 2019. I became a New Zealand citizen in 2024 and gained Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2021.
Today I combine clinical work as GP and Clinical Lead for Third Age Health in Hawke’s Bay with roles as Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato NZ Graduate School of Medicine and service on the Medical Appeals Board for the Ministry of Social Development in Hawke’s Bay. For the Medical Council of NZ I have been appointed as an independent contractor for the Performance Assessment Committee. I’m also CEO of Adjutant Health, where we created YIHA (Your Intelligent Health Assessment) to make care more efficient and patient-friendly.
At the heart of my practice is a humble belief in holistic care: I ground every decision in evidence-based medicine and sound clinical experience, while staying open to lifestyle enhancements, preventive strategies and complementary approaches that genuinely support your whole wellbeing.
My goal is simple – to partner with you on a clear, personalised path to better health.
Outside of medicine I stay active — I’ve completed my fastest marathon in 2:45 h, Ironman in 11:38 h, and a 100-mile trail ultramarathon. I’m also a judo black belt and train in Krav Maga. I believe in looking after physical health as part of overall wellbeing.
It will be a privilege to welcome you to The GP.

About
Maria Pearson, TrainerI'm Maria Pearson, personal trainer and life coach.
MPhEd (Otago), REPs Registered Exercise Specialist, Life Coach (DipLC), ATG Certified Coach L1
I love working with people as a personal trainer and life coach. I coach clients one-on-one (private sessions) and also in small groups. I spend time in local retirement villages offering strength and balance classes. Every fortnight, I release a podcast on Radio Hawke's Bay called "Women's Health: Let's Talk" where we discuss all things health.
As a healthy ageing advocate, I focus on the changes in our bodies as we age and how we can keep our bodies strong and able. My goal is to help people stay robust, independent, and confident in their bodies as they get older. I watch and listen as you move your body and we work together to introduce movement, balance, flexibility, and coordination to your body.
I look forward to working with you soon.
